Do I need to buy textbooks or other materials
For Mini Courses you will not be required to purchase books or materials, everything is provided. However we do provide a reading and resource list for people who want to explore topics further.
For Deep Dives there are recommended textbooks to purchase, usually one or two. However, typically these cost no more than $20 or $30, as courses include titles of older editions of books, which means books are available from used bookstores for a lesser cost than newer editions. All recommended textbooks have full titles listed in the course, with ISBN numbers so you can find them easily.
Deep Dive courses occasionally include recommended book chapters and/or articles that are accessible for free through external, online platforms (outside of the learning platform); access will require registering for an account with an email address. Detailed instructions are provided within the courses on where and how to access the materials. -
Do I need to follow segments (Mini Courses) or modules (Deep Dive courses) in order?
No you do not! You can mix up the order as each are self-contained learning parts within the courses. However Deep Dive courses usually are designed chronologically, which gives a perspective on how art evolved over time. Some In-depth courses build on previous modules; completing them in order may create a better learning experience. If sequential order of learning is recommended, instructions are provided at the beginning of the course.
-
How much time will it require to complete a course?
Mini Courses time commitment is about 2 to 3 hours for each course; learning is divided into short segments that allow maximum flexibility in completing the course.
Deep Dives provide comprehensive learning experiences with time commitments of 25 hours or more for an entire course; there are 8 modules per course with 2 and 3 hours of learning for each. -
